Des autoquestionnaires ont été diffusés par le personnel de la maternité aux mamans répondant aux critères d’inclusion de l’étude. Les mères ont été interrogées le jour de leur sortie de la maternité (moyenne : troisième jour après l’accouchement). En PMI, les puéricultrices distribuaient le questionnaire en salle d’attente. Les questions portaient sur les caractéristiques du nouveau-né à la naissance, les caractéristiques sociodémographiques des parents, la position de couchage présente ou future. La position de couchage préférée et les raisons de leur choix étaient demandées aux parents. Des renseignements sur la fratrie éventuelle et la position de couchage préconisée à l’époque étaient demandés.The mothers were questioned on the day that they left the maternity ward.
