Database objective : The main objective of this study was to determine the maximal effect of multidisciplinary management initiated during spa therapy on metabolic syndrome at one year. 2008 2009 Collecte des données terminée Data collection completed France Patients venant en cure à Eugénie les Bains Patients initiating spa therapy at Eugénie les Bains National individuel individuals Patient présentant un syndrome métabolique (selon les critères du NCEP-ATP III), c’est-à-dire présentant au moins trois critères parmi les suivants : tour de taille > 102 cm chez l’homme et 88 cm chez la femme, triglycérides ≥ 1,5 g/l, HDL-Cholestérol < 0,4 g/l chez l’homme et 0,5 g/l chez la femme, glycémie à jeun ≥ 1,10 g/l, tension artérielle ≥ 130/85 mmHg ; Patient âgé de plus de 18 ans ; Patient ayant un IMC < 40 ; Patient ayant une glycémie à jeun < 1,26 g/l ; Patient pouvant être suivi durant la période de l’étude ; Patient capable de comprendre le protocole et de remplir le questionnaire ; Patient débutant une cure thermale dans l’indication « maladie métabolique » (code AU seul ou en double indication) ; Patient acceptant de participer à l’étude. Patient presenting a metabolic syndrome according to the criteria of the NCEP-ATP III (at least three of the following criteria: waist circumference > 102 cm for men and 88 cm for women, triglycerides ≥ 1.5 g/l, HDL-Cholestérol < 0.4 g/l for men and 0.5 g/l for women, fasting glycaemia ≥ 1.10 g/l, blood pressure ≥ 130/85 mmHg 130/85); greater than 18 years old; patient having a BMI < 40; patient having a fasting glycaemia < 1.26 g/l; patient who can be followed during the study period; patient able to understand the protocol and complete the questionnaire; patient initiating spa therapy for "metabolic disease" (alone or with a second indication); patient accepting to participate in the study. Ils ont participé au programme de prise en charge multidisciplinaire associé à la cure thermale. Ceux dont le médecin traitant acceptait de participer étaient recontactés à 6 et 12 mois pour remplir un questionnaire téléphonique invariant (évaluation de la qualité de vie SF36, de l’activité physique, la perception de l’état de santé, l’évaluation diététique par un questionnaire Nutrition Alimentation). En parallèle, les médecins traitant étaient également contactés à 6 et 12 mois afin de remplir un questionnaire médical (statut vital, examen clinique, événements cardiovasculaires, examens biologiques et traitements médicamenteux). The patients included by the thermal physicians were also seen by a dietician and a nurse to fill-out two questionnaires. They participated in multidisciplinary care programme associated with the hydrotherapy. Those whose general practitioner agreed to participate were contacted again at 6 and 12 months to complete a telephone questionnaire (SF36 quality of life evaluation, physical activity, perceived health status, dietary evaluation). In parallel, general practitioners were also contacted at 6 and 12 months to fill-out a medical questionnaire (vital status, clinical examination, cardiovascular events, biological examinations and medicinal treatments). Les médecins thermaux ont proposé l’étude aux patients non diabétiques arrivant en cure thermale entre juillet 2008 et décembre 2009 et présentant un syndrome métabolique. Les patients correspondant aux critères d’inclusion et acceptant de participer à l’étude ont été inclus dans l’étude. ceux dont le médecin traitant accepté de participer étaient ensuite suivis pendant 1 an sans intervention supplémentaire. Spa physicians proposed the study to non-diabetic patients initiating spa therapy between July 2008 and December 2009 and presenting with metabolic syndrome. Patients fulfilling the inclusion criteria and agreeing to participate were included. Those whose general practitioner agreed to participate were followed for 1 year without any further intervention. Lors du suivi à 6 et 12 mois, les données étaient recueillies par le centre coordinateur auprès du patient et par les médecins traitants.
